Melting Moments

Makes 16

Ingredients:

5oz Self Raising Flour

4oz Margarine

3oz Caster Sugar

2 drops Vanilla Essence

1 Egg Yolk

Porridge Oats for coating

Half cherries for decorating (optional)

Method: 

  • Put all the ingredients (except oats and cherries) in a bowl.

  • Stir together and knead into a firm dough.

  • Roll out into a sausage shape and divide into 16 equal pieces

  • Roll each piece in oats, flatten and place on baking parchment on a baking tray

  • Space evenly (8 pieces to a baking tray).  Place half a cherry onto each piece (optional).

  • Bake at 180 degrees C/gas mark 4 for about 15-18 minutes.

  • Allow to cool and enjoy!
