      More quickly, as the area of the mouth of the 2-inch pipe is twice as great as the               sum of the areas of the two 1-inch pipes (area of circle = π x radius squared)

      1/4 inch. When standing on a bookshelf in proper order, volume 2 is at the right of             volume 1, making page 1 of volume 1 separated from page 1000 of volume 2 only             by the two covers.

      Square has sides of 4cm. Perimeter = 4+4+4+4 = 16        Area = 4x4 = 16

      Rectangle has sides of 6cm and 3cm.    Perimeter = 6+3+6+3 = 18         Area = 6x3 = 18

      6 possible permutations:  GGGG    GGBB    GGGB    BBGG    BGGG    BGGB

 

8)   Sequences

      Next number is 34; add the two previous numbers to make the next  (Fibonacci)

      33.3%   (100 divided by 3 = 33.333333……..)
